Texas Hold'em Strategy

This section will give a short description of how to play Texas Hold’em well and do not go away for at least first two levels.

Know that Texas Hold’em is a high-card game. It means that the higher cards you hold, the higher are your chances to win. Usually. Thus, try to play with high cards, which can pass through several raises or at least one raise at pre-flop section. But (!) don’t always do this. Your opponents will read you as an open book, and your goal is absolutely opposite. Don not let others know if you have good or bad cards – and seldom throw away good cards and play with bad – real trash or something.

Some words about positions at the table. If you are at early position, play only strong hands, which can stand a raise or multiple raises. If you are at late positions, play medium strength and other playable hands if you can see the flop without paying much money.

Try to steal the blinds at late levels. Usually players who reach heights play tight and carefully, so if you play aggressively here – not always of course – you will take more money.

Last advice – if you see that there are a lot of callers on pre-flop stage, see the flop and see if it suites your cards. If not – fold it and don’t regret.
