WSOP Rules
1. First rule is concerned with the number of tables available for playing. The $10,000 No-Limit Texas Hold’em World Championship Event is limited to 200 tables; all other events are limited to 100 tables.
2. Second rule is about registration. Any player can register for any event by signing up for a player ID, bringing in the amount of buy-in and signing a required release – of course, befor the event starts.
3. Main rule – Fairness principle is the main and major here. In case of force majeure circumstances, the technical interpretation can be ignored in favor of fairness.
4. Each player has a limited time period to act. First, it is a significant standard amount of time, then a minute period, then ten seconds. If even after this period the player didn’t decide what to do, his hand is considered dead.
5. Tournament and satellite seats are designated strictly randomly.
6. Important note – penalties. The penalty is applied in following cases:
– if a card(s) goes off the table
– if soft-play occurs
– abuse, disruptive behavior, or similar incidents
– other similar things
All other rules can be viewed on the official site of the WSOP.
