WSOP Winners
The first winner was Johnny Moss. And he’s the only one three-time champion. Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson follow after him.
Though it’s not very fair to write only about the champions. There are other winners – for example, when we talk about the winners we don’t consider women. Though there are many of them in the winners lists.
And now we see a tendency – more and more movie stars play poker. No – almost any star is ready to give up his/her job in order to play poker. Jennifer Tilly, for example, who won the Ladies NL Hold’em WSOP Event.
And though Amarillo Slim once said: “The day a woman win the main event is the day I die". But… he’s still alive. And there is no women in the list of the WSOP champions. Actually there was only one woman that had a chance to win – Barbara Enright. Back in 1995.
This year – one woman (Jennifer Tilly), only one, not in the main event but still a winner. And this makes us think that it’s not for the last time.
We also can’t deny that there is another tendency – women prefer online poker. They don’t like sitting in smoky joints, they prefer a cup of coffee and a monitor.
Maybe it’s their way to the WSOP. Both Raymer and Moneymaker won their seats through the Internet. But it is… NOT a rule. Because Joseph Hachem, the present champion, didn’t win his seat. He paid $10,000.
